It is the second largest representative of its genus after the common tuna, with a maximum recorded length of 3 m and a weight of 450 kg.
Where they live: Pacific bluefin tuna live mainly in the North Pacific Ocean from East Asia to the coast of North America. The coasts of Russia (Primorye, south of Sakhalin) are approached mainly in the summer months. These pelagic fish are more common in temperate coastal waters and usually do not sink deeper than 200 m, although there is evidence of their presence at a depth of 550 m.
